Li-Zainal Sdn Bhd started as a joint venture company between Lahmeyer International GmbH and Y.B. Dr. Ir. Raja Tan Sri Dato' Zainal back in 1987.

Lahmeyer International GmbH (Germany) is well known around the globe for its Advance Engineering Consultancy services, especially in Power Plant Design, while the late Y.B. Dr. Ir. Raja Tan Sri Dato' Zainal bin Raja Sulaiman was one of the most renowned Engineer in Malaysia at that time. He is the first Malay engineer to be appointed Deputy Chairman and General Manager of Lembaga Letrik Negara (now known as Tenaga Nasional Berhad) and one of the founding member of Institute of Engineers Malaysia.

Directors and shareholders:
Each director brings to the company a wealth of technical and practical knowledge in his field of practice.

Currently the helm of the company is held by Ir. Dr. Samad bin Solbai, whom is another well known figure to the Engineering Society for his engineering contribution. Ir. Dr.Samad bin Solbai obtain his PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and since then, he has researched and published extensively on topics relating to mechanical engineering and chemical engineering. He was appointed to several key positions in Established Engineering Company, such as the Managing Director of Sime Sembawang Engineering Sdn Bhd and General Manager of Shapadu Energy and Engineering Sdn Bhd.

Company capability:
LI-Zainal has a staff strength of 50 persons, consisting solely of trained engineers and draftsmen. We strive to maintain the best personnel to fulfil our clients needs by providing the adequate training, exposure and mentoring to all our staff. Our existence is build on strong teamwork as a key work ethic.
